Earlier this year the Government promised to give our area £15.4m to fund projects in Tamworth, Leek, Rugeley and Lichfield on top of the £82m ‘Growth Deal’ they awarded us in July 2014.
The money will be combined with contributions from the private sector to spend on projects which aim to create 11,000 jobs in Staffordshire over the next six years.
Work is already underway at Lichfield Park and projects will start this year at Meaford near Stone, Bericote in South Staffordshire and on the Western Access Road in Stafford.
Bringing investment and growth to Staffordshire needs the skills of many people and organisations.
We work closely with the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (which is a group of public, private and voluntary organisations which exists to bring jobs and economic growth to the county) to secure government and European funding, and then deliver projects on the ground like that at Lichfield Park which will create 1,100 jobs.
