Youngsters across the county are under starters to line up for the first ever Staffordshire IRONKIDS – which takes place in the county next June.
Over the coming months children from across the county will be stretching out and limbering up in the biggest event in the junior spectacular.
Families can enter in their junior event of choice, with demand for entry for the Staffordshire event on June 13 likely to outstrip places.
The event involves running between 500 metres and 2.5 kilometres according to their age, with each child receiving a special commemorative IRONKIDS t-shirt in their entry pack and a medal after completing their run to celebrate their achievement.
It takes place against the historic backdrop of the Shugborough Estate and the whole event looks set to be great news for Staffordshire’s economy, tourism and local people.
To make sure your child doesn’t miss out on this fabulous opportunity to be part of the action of an IRONMAN race weekend in the UK, please visit www.ironkids.co.uk for further information and online entry – to be completed by parents or guardians.
The adults’ event gets underway the following day. Places for that day sold out in hours, but charity fundraising spots are still available.
Turning up the heat in the main event will be celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay – who is leading his own charity team.
Gordon said, “I’m excited to be launching GR100 and thanks to IRONMAN UK for giving us the opportunity to race at 70.3 Staffordshire. It’s amazing for me to combine two of my passions, the Gordon Ramsay Foundation and triathlons.”
